Watch the Best-Worst Dracula Trailer You'll Ever See, Courtesy of Dario Argento
If Movieline ran a feature to accompany Bad Movies We Love called Bad Trailers We Love, the gory sales preview for Dario Argento’s monsterpiece Dracula 3D would be spotlighted this week. It features everything that is awful about bad horror movies — but in such a straightforward way that you can’t help but watch the trailer in knee-slapping awe. Beware: One gratuitous sponge bath, buckets of movie blood and spoilers galore await you. Argento’s take on the Bram Stoker classic stars Thomas Kretschmann (King Kong) as Dracula, Rutger Hauer (Hobo With a Shotgun) as Van Helsing and Asia Argento (actress and daughter of the director) as Lucy. Shot last summer, this “sales trailer” appears to have been cobbled together from the film’s most climactic scenes before the visual effects have been completed. Enjoy then, the after-school-special quality of acting on both the parts of the humans and the animals (sadly, the woman confronted by wolves did not have minibar booze bottles handy to fend off these beasts). If Uggie were reviewing this movie, which he appears fully capable of doing, he would give this two paws down and a tortured whimper. Also, for those keeping count at home, Dracula 3D does appear to feature: · 1 19th century character with breast implants · At minimum, 3 untraceable accents · 1 fully nude woman baring her fangs while on all fours for no apparent reason · 1 GIGANTIC PRAYING MANTIS WITH OCTOPUS ARMS · 1 man being crudely decapitated by another man’s claws · 1 actor who hisses like a cat every time he reveals his fangs No word yet on when Dracula 3D will see the light of day. VERDICT: I may not admit to it afterward, but yes, I would watch Dracula 3D. [via BadAssDigest.com]

Audiences also begin to see the frustration of Mister Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh), who directed and starred alongside Monroe in 'Prince.' Per the film her tardiness and failure to think about lines drove Olivier insane. Or managed to get happen? (Signal: thunderclap.) Really, yeah, probably. Inside an essay round the Daily Animal, Vera Day, who starred alongside Olivier and Monroe in 'Prince,' supplies a unique perspective within the relationship involving the two symbols. Marilyn was very, very difficult. [Olivier] stood a hard time along with her and would go out his approach to direct a scene, after which it...Paula Strasberg, would call Marilyn over, whisper in their ear, and go, 'Marilyn, ignore everything. Just think about the boy as well as the Coca-Cola." So she'd have this phenomenal direction after which it she'd throw that away, go to the side, and do her 'method' factor in regards to the boy as well as the Coca-Cola... She really was always late... People once thought she was late because she was frightened or scared of every one of these British stars [round the film]. All of the frustrations Day describes in their essay occur inside the film (too as with Clark's books). However, the actress was skeptical in regards to the "week with Marilyn" part, where Clark needed offered by Monroe for just about any little. I didn't witness anything between Marilyn and Colin Clark [just like the film]. I truly don't remember him round the set whatsoever. There have been no rumblings of those being together on set. She was very, very into Arthur Burns, and so they were around the honeymoon. Goodness me, no. Whatever he mentioned relating to this ... I'm speaking about, I am unable to accuse him of lounging, however greatly doubt there's anything happening there. She was with [Burns] constantly, then when she wasn't she was working, which he was round the set constantly along with her. So! Maybe it happened! Or even this didn't. Things are determined by which team you believe. You possibly can make the judgement by yourself when 'My Week With Marilyn' opens on November. 23. Longtime collaborators help dress the various components
'Hugo''The Rum Diary'Ask any filmmaker or actor to title probably the most essential abilities an outfit designer might have, and the reply is never a watch for color or perhaps an encyclopedic understanding of favor. Why is a costumer most invaluable towards the movie-making process is really a deep knowledge of character and story and a chance to intuit how clothes can translate these nuances onscreen. In connection with this, Wendy Chuck, that has labored with director Alexander Payne dating to 1999's "Election," sees herself like a "social detective," particularly when it involves the type of contemporary, character-driven dramas that Payne is famous, which are frequently assumed if this involves an outfit designer's efforts. In talking about her focus on Payne's "The Descendants," which happens in present-day Hawaii, where flowery, short-sleeved t shirts and switch-flops would be the norm, Chuck states subtle distinctions are key."Employed in the contemporary area, particularly the type of dramatic comedy (Payne) does isn't the simplest factor to complete,Inch Chuck states. "You need to think a great deal regarding your options because you need to strike the best notes, and that i never want the garments to talk even louder compared to stars. I would like my costumes to aid the figures."Unless of course the scene is requesting something to become outstanding, I believe subtlety works more effectively.InchThe type of laid-back, comfort-clothes vibe that spreads throughout the The island of oahu of "The Descendants" isn't alien to Chuck, hailing as she does from beachy Queensland, Australia. As well as for George Clooney's well-to-do lawyer within the film, she labored with your established resort-put on venders as Reyn Spooner and Tori Richard to create his character Matt King only a fashion cut above his peers, whose business attire could be tough to distinguish from those of switch flop-putting on travelers. But make no mistake, this isn't the sartorially resplendent Clooney people are utilized to seeing. "If Clooney used shorts they did not have cargo pockets, these were more refined," Chuck states. "He experienced character by putting on his pants high and perhaps they are just a little ill-fitting. He left his ego in the door."In comparison to Chuck and Payne's working relationship, that is relatively brief, costume designers Deborah Hopper, Colleen Atwood and Joanna Johnston have worked with with Clint Eastwood, The Actor-brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg, correspondingly, through decades of labor and a large number of films.Hopper, the costume designer behind Eastwood's "J. Edgar," first labored using the actor-switched-director back in 1984 on the movie known as "Tightrope," when, as she recalls, women did wardrobe for that female figures and males outfitted the males. "Bloodstream Work" (2002) symbolized her first costume designer credit with Eastwood, and she or he has held that title for all of his projects since. "I have type of labored my in place in Clint's group," she states. "He enables that to occur.InchOccasionally, specially when Eastwood can also be acting inside a film, "he's their own ideas in regards to a hat maybe he'll wish to put on, but he's very good about clothes. Whatever I generate he usually wears."Hopper states many people are surprised at the pace where Eastwood works (he did, in the end, release both "Changeling" and "Gran Torino" in 2008), but this means more preparation. "I attempt to prep the entire movie before we begin shooting," she states. "He shoots so quick we must stay two steps in front of him."Regardless of what the film -- a modern day drama like "Mystic River" or perhaps a period biopic for example "J. Edgar," in which the clothing is fine and moments occur at glamorous locales such as the Stork Club (as well as in which Leonardo DiCaprio dons an outfit) -- Hopper's job would be to represent reality, whether it is drab or dazzling. "The majority of his tales are character-driven or about everyday existence, and also the clothes also need to portray that Things need to look natural, and i believe our working relationship is much like that too.InchFor "War Equine," which ranges in the bucolic bliss of Southwest England circa 1913 towards the killing fields of France in the height of WWI, Johnston's research incorporated old family photos (she'd an ancestor within the British cavalry) and poring through archives from the Imperial War Museum, that has three of their five branches working in london.InchThey keep plenty of uniforms, therefore we would request to determine specifics," Johnston informs Variety from Atlanta, where she's focusing on Spielberg's "Lincoln subsequently." "They haven't only British, but there is a large amount of German stuff too, that was incredibly useful. Seeing all that aesthetically, to see a lot of particulars, which was all an entire springboard to visit forward."As opposed to "Lincoln subsequently," which handles actual historic figures (along with a reliance upon the legendary photographs of Civil War chronicler Matthew Brady), "War Equine" given Johnston and Spielberg a little more creative leeway, even when both were sticking to period precision."If you notice 'War Equine,' and also the clothes don't jump out to you by any means, then I'd the job is congratulations,Inch states Johnston. "They should not draw attention, they must be perfect within that place."Johnston's relationship with Spielberg goes back to "Indiana Johnson and also the Temple of Disaster" (1984), which she aided Anthony Powell. She graduated to costume designer on "Who Presented Roger Rabbit," which Spielberg created, and required within the layer around the director's "Indiana Johnson and also the Last Campaign" (1989) and it has labored for the reason that convenience of Spielberg since."Within the work I have completed with Steven, he's taken me in each one of these them -- aside from the 'Indiana Jones' movies and 'War from the Worlds' -- in to these incredible history training, with 'Saving Private Ryan,' 'Munich,' 'War Equine, 'Lincoln.' My understanding has broadened through my medium. How nice is the fact that?InchInchThe Rum Diary" is only the latest inside a lengthy listing of extremely imaginative films Atwood and Depp have worked with on since she first outfitted him in intricate leather bondage put on for Tim Burton's "Edward Scissorhands," in 1990. That roster includes other Burton films, from "Erectile dysfunction Wood" to "Sweeney Todd" to "Alice's adventures in wonderland" (which gained Atwood an Oscar), towards the forthcoming cheesy vampire pic "Dark Shadows," that has wrapped, and 2009's "Public Opponents.""Johnny's always made amazing, type of individual options," Atwood states. After 22 years, the designer views Depp similar to an associate of her family, most famously of since the intense time allocated to set can mimic a household dynamic. "You will find there's large amount of shared humor and discomfort together, so there is a real connection there."On "The Rum Diary," the household dynamic would be a literal one, as Depp's sister Christi Dembrowski would be a producer. Although Depp's character might be interpreted as his version of Hunter Thompson, take two, Atwood states, "Johnny did not wish to look the same as Hunter. The bond is certainly sincere but simultaneously it's more a mindset.InchAmong the signature wardrobe pieces was a set of borderline sleazy gold wraparound shades Depp "drawn from the bag" and Atwood could replicate enough for him to put on through the film."He really feels his costumes and also the mood of these in ways that's very visceral," she observes of Depp's process. "He really stays a shorter period searching within the mirror than any actor I have ever labored with. I suppose whenever you seem like that you don't have to.InchHonor Season Focus: The WomenThesps seize career reins Brains and brawn fuel nouveau action heroines Longtime collaborators help dress the various components Startling breakthroughs Contact the range newsroom at news@variety.com

GALLERY:MTV: thirty years of Music Videos The authors certainly did their homework, chronicling the wild and crazy ride in the network inside the words that belongs to them eclectic cast of figures, although stopping way short -- 1992 -- of explaining the funnel's transformation to reality TV brain suck. Still, there's plenty to sink your teeth into withthis book, that's more anecdotal than analytical and produces an easy read during spurts. Here, 5 things worth remembering in regards to the MTV of yesteryear. 1. Almost 30 Years Ago, nobody had any concept of "music video." When Bob Pittman, Tom Freston, and John Lack were hatching plans for your new network, the idea an advertising and marketing clip from the song may be broadcast and possibly really are a record purchase was completely uncommon. I'd Like My MTV provides a indication of techniques influential MTV was. Not since the large three of ABC, CBS, and NBC were established inside the 19 fifties stood a network done more to shape the look and feel of popular culture. Sure, Elvis had starred in movies as well as the Monkees as well as the Partridge Family were hit Tv shows, before MTV, music and Hollywood were two separate industries. STORY:MTV Launches Iggy, Giving World's Bands a Platform in the united states 2. There's an occasion when the "M" in MTV really symbolized music. The funnel barely plays music videos any more but thirty years ago, it absolutely was a busy schedule-to put to choose every great act searching gain popular -- from Duran Duran, who introduced the initial racy video utilizing their uncensored "Women On Film," to Madonna, Aerosmith, Tone Loc, and 100s more. Many create a feel and look throughout these pages where they recall how videos quickly increased being most likely probably the most interesting creative medium in the eighties. And wouldn't you understand -- recalling the stinkers is really as entertaining as remembering the hits. Among the authors' favorite bad videos: Bruce Springsteen's 1984 hit "Dancing at night time,Inch starring Courteney Cox, Prince's "Raspberry Beret" (1985), as well as the Pixies' "Velouria" (1990). 3. Drug-fueled productions were a purchase throughout your day. Chapter 24 of I'd Like My MTV is titled "Gacked to Tits: Twenty-four tales about drugs." Among the selection is story No. 13, appreciated by Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates: "I am certain the cameramen i did so blow. That's virtually the 80s. The entertainers were high, although less than the crew." VIDEO: MTV's New Reality Star: 324-pound Chelsea Forms 4. While teeming with stylish-hop pictures of sexy video vixens, fly cars and Benjamins within the senior years, MTV was at first slow to embrace other races. As tempting since it is to idolize the funnel's meager roots and indisputable influence, you can't ignore the fact the networkplayed so handful of videos by black artists within the nascent days that Ron James freely complained. MTV professionals mentioned it absolutely was because of inadequacies in supply, and very soon enough, Michael Jackson'sThriller solved this issue, while he increased being the initial African-American celebrity on MTV. Still, the funnel hesitated to see rap and was surprised when Years of age! MTV Raps increased being popular. The issue wasn't a great deal about racism, however, since it involved MTV's narrow Top 40 vision due to its playlists. The funnel was slow to acquire behind grunge and hair metal too. 5. The Actual Existence's premiere typed the beginning of the conclusion for music television. Despite the fact that book only covers MTV's first decade, it's interesting to see that in 1992, asNirvana's Nevermind was overflowing and grunge was overpowering radio, came the debut in the Real Existence, a pioneering type in the truth television format familiar to almost anybody getting a Tv. TheMTV nowadays, centered by franchises like Jersey Shoreline and Teen Mother,is certainly a completely different animal in contrast for the scrappy music funnel that first demonstrated three decades ago, which Snooki herself probably wouldn't have seen. Snap Judgment: 'Lorax' Trailer
While "The Kitty within the Hat" and "The way the Grinch Stole Christmas" are most likely the favourite of Dr. Seuss' tales, the most popular happens to be "The Lorax." And That I suppose it had been inevitable there will be a film version sooner or later. So here you go: the very first trailer for that animated adaptation from the creature who talks for that trees. I am still recuperating in the breach of my childhood which was the Jim Carrey "Grinch" movie, and so i needed to watch it the very first couple occasions with my hands over my eyes.Initial ideas? The appearance is great--love the chocolate-colored trees whose puffy forms are in keeping with the book's sketches. Zac Efron appears to become pushing the "aw shucks gee whiz I am a kid" bit just a little hard because the protagonist Ted, who goes looking for a tree to thrill a woman (voiced by Taylor Quick.) Despite the fact that I really like Danny DeVito, unsure he brings together the Lorax for me personally. He sounds awfully picky and grouchy and charmless. It can be simply because I so connect that voice together with his character on "It Certainly Is Sunny in Philadelphia," I simply keep considering a dirty old guy. Unsure who a much better choice could have been--except for whatever reason, Seth Rogen keeps popping in your thoughts. Though a buddy recommended an execllent choice: Hal Holbrook. He might have introduced some homespun knowledge towards the role.Still, the origin material is perfect. Color me very carefully positive. Though I am not searching toward all of the "Lorax" posters and advertisements that are certain to be placed up--question the number of trees they'll destroy which makes them.View A Clip ON Behind The Curtain

Kurt Sutter Takes On DirecTV Over Possible Blackout With Choice Words
Kurt Sutter Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has a few things to say to DirecTV customers who may lose access to Fox cable channels, including FX: "You're getting f---ed over." Fox Networks' cable channels may go dark on DirecTV Last Thursday, Fox said DirecTV sent the company a proposal that stipulated that Fox agree to their pricing terms or else DirecTV's 19 million subscribers will lose access to more than two dozen Fox cable channels including FX, National Geographic, and several regional sports networks beginning Nov. 1. DirecTV, however, is claiming that Fox Networks is seeking a 40 percent increase in subscriber fees. On Monday, the oft-outspoken Sutter took to his blog to implore viewers to mobilize against DirecTV, who, he says, are "f---ing over the customers that already pay a lot of money for their service." Sutter filmed a promo to help, which will air before Tuesday's episode of Sons. The rather colorful and strongly worded script that Sutter had written himself didn't quite meet network approval, but he posted his version on his blog for all to see: "Hey, I'm Kurt Sutter, creator of Sons of Anarchy," his promo reads. "Starting November 1st, DirecTV is pulling FX from your box. That means you'll miss the last five episodes of Sons this season. Perhaps five of the most critical episodes of the series. Check out the rest of today's news "I know Fox has a horse in this race, but they're trying to negotiate in good faith. DirecTV is shutting down all conversation and using their customers as leverage. In the process, you're getting f---ed over. They're running ads with their corporate shill telling you how much 'they care about your business,' that dude's got one sincere hand on his heart while the other greases your unsuspecting backside. Because they're about to flip you over and f--- up the a-- till you bleed. Sutter says subscribers can get the real story at keepmynets.com. He concludes, "Thanks for the support, B----es."

Oscarcast Team Of Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, Adam Shankman Plot Pic
EXCLUSIVE: New Line Cinema is in early talks to acquire a pitch for a comedy vehicle that would re-team 2010 Oscarcast hosts Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin with Adam Shankman, who will direct and who produced the Oscars that year. This is all pretty early stuff — they haven’t closed the deal or even hired a writer — but the principals have all sparked to the idea of moving forward on a comedy that has a bit of Trading Places meets Grumpy Old Men. The comedy will be produced by Shankman and his Offspring Entertainment partner Jennifer Gibgot. Martin and Baldwin previously teamed in It’s Complicated, playing dueling paramours for the affection of Meryl Streep. The idea for the project sprang from Martin appearing with Baldwin in the opening segment of Saturday Night Live, when Baldwin broke Martin’s hosting record, and Shankman and Gibgot thought they’d make a good screen pairing. Baldwin just teamed with them on Rock Of Ages, and though he seemed shaky about taking part for some personal reasons at one point, I’m told he had a good time on the film. We don’t see a lot of comedy tandems anymore, and I think these guys in a comedy has potential. Martin is repped by WME, Baldwin by CAA and Shankman at UTA.Watch Transformers 3 Dark Of The Moon The Movie

The Amount Of Awkward Patrick Swayze Jokes will be in '50/50'? (And 24 Other Urgent Questions)
A couple of days ago, Ernest Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen release their new cancer comedy '50/50.' Gordon-Levitt stars as Adam, a author/producer inside a public radio station in Dallas who works together his pot-enthusiast friend Kyle (Rogen). Is '50/50' a sizable stretch for Seth Rogen? Is '50/50' a genuine comedy? Just like a service, here's an reaction to every query you might have about '50/50.' Q: Up to now, is '50/50' your chosen movie of year? A: Yes. Q: Wait, may be the film about rap music? One which stars 50/50? A: No. You're thinking about 50 Cent in 'Get Wealthy or Die Tryin.' Q: Then who's 50/50? A: There is no musical artist named 50/50. '50/50' might be the storyline of Adam (Ernest Gordon-Levitt), as well as the title describes his probability of survival. Q: Within the nine bullet wounds? A: Again, that's 50 Cent. Adam, to date as everyone knows, has not been shot. He's a normally healthy human male who discovers he features a rare kind of spine cancer. Q: The advertisements have introduced me to consider the plot of '50/50' consists mainly of Seth Rogen using his friend's cancer in order to meet women. A: People ads are misleading. There's one scene through which this happens, but that is definately not the central plot of '50/50.' Q: Is '50/50' with various true story? A: Type of. The story, put together by Will Reiser, is very loosely based by themself encounters with cancer. Q: How's Seth Rogen in '50/50'? A: In my opinion you may be confusing '50/50' for either '50 First Dates' or 'Funny People,' I'm unsure which -- but '50/50' is more preferable than '50 First Dates' and 'Funny People' Q: If you'll probably be blurbed inside the ads a couple of days ago for '50/50,' what quote you think will probably be used?" A: "'50/50' is more preferable than '50 First Dates'!" -- Mike Ryan, Moviefone Q: The amount of kind-of awkward Patrick Swayze jokes will be in '50/50'? A: One. Q: What's the worst part of '50/50'? A: 'Rise in the Planet in the Apes' and 'Friends with Benefits.' Q: Aren't Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard in '50/50'? A: Yes. Howard plays Adam's not-that-great girlfriend Rachel, while Kendrick plays Katie, Adam's counselor. Katie is designated as Adam's counselor to have the ability to help him deal with what he's utilizing his illness. Also, Adam is simply Katie's third patient -- which leads to awkward moments. Q: Does Gordon-Levitt's Adam have parallels to Tom, his character in '(500) Occasions of Summer'? A: Tom and Adam both look greatly like each other and so they come with an affinity for pancakes. Q: The amount of references exist to Kuato from 'Total Recall' in '50/50'? A: One. Q: The amount of occasions possibly you've plagiarized from yourself in this piece within the one you written about '50/50' on Tuesday? A: Two occasions. Q: Did I assist you to crying throughout '50/50'? A: No, I used to be cutting let us eat some let's eat some onions.
